It is the final day of Deep Lord Chibithulu's
inspection tour. He has not been entirely happy with his findings. There
is too much beauty, too much kindness and far too much enjoyment for his
tastes.
He pauses on his way out of his hotel den to dwell on this problem. (34) |

In the lobby of the hotel Chibithulu sees once
again beauty and kindness spring to life. The servants of the hotel didn't
even overcharge his minions.
He is thoroughly disgusted.

Across from the front desk of the hotel is a
viewing area for what Chibithulu thought was a boiling pot for devouring
humans. It turns out to be a hot tub.

His minions eager to depart, the Deep Lord pauses in the lounge of the
hotel. Let them wait, he wishes to relax before traveling back to his
headquarters.

Once again, the Deep Lord gazes upon the place
where he has denned for several days. It is time, at last to depart and
return to the refreshing noise and pollution of the city. He needs a
vacation.

Chibithulu argues with his minions when they
pause for another trip to the beach. He is unable to command them
otherwise, but he lays misfortune upon them.

While his minions while away time on the sands, Chibithulu contemplates a
cheerful looking marsh area, slowly encroaching upon the disgusting picnicking
area. Destruction continues, and it is a good thing.

Chibithulu finds his life at stake when his minions find they cannot get any
decent calamari for lunch. His power upon them is waning with the end of his
inspection. It takes careful negotiation to save his tentacles.

To mollify his servants and ensure his safe journey home, the Deep Lord
allows them to stop and view a local landmark. He takes some satisfaction
that the beautiful lenses formerly used at the lighthouse are replaced by
more modern, and less aesthetically pleasing, ones.
