What is the setting of 9Waves?

 

The world is grounded in unfounded superstition and new science, and people have only recently begun turning their eyes beyond the horizon of the vast seas and oceans. Alchemy "wizards" have discovered the powerful "Black Powder" and the age of the sword is quickly retreating in favor of the Mistress Gun. Trade between nations sends fat merchant ships into the hunting grounds of pirates while wars of succession and the conflict between the receding nobility and the emerging rich middle class brings about adventure and intrigue on land.
